“The Magic of Meditation” at The Lighthouse Worthing

June 6, 2025 | Brahma Kumaris UK

Around 100 people gathered at The Lighthouse, Worthing on the evening of Thursday 5th June to experience “The Magic of Meditation” with Sister Jayanti, Additional Head of the Brahma Kumaris. The event was jointly organised by Brahma Kumaris Brighton and The Lighthouse Worthing, and was the first in a series of eight events on this theme taking place across the UK over two weeks.

For many attendees, it was their first time experiencing Raja Yoga meditation. Sister Jayanti explained how Raja Yoga meditation works and how essential it is, if we want to live in today’s world with clarity, peace, and resilience.

About meditation Sister Jayanti said:
“Meditation is not about stopping my thoughts, going into nothingness, but moving my thoughts in a specific direction to come to the experience of the inner being that I am.”

She conducted three guided meditations throughout the evening, each bringing the entire room into pin-drop silence and an atmosphere of deep stillness. That feeling was described beautifully in one of the meditation commentaries: “I enter the space that only I can enter and I can feel the stillness, a state of peace that feels very comfortable… There is an awareness that peace is a very natural part of me… I hold peace within me…”

Audience members left deeply touched. One participant shared: “The more you have good thoughts, the happier you are. That’s what I’ve learned since I’ve been coming here.”

A local head teacher commented, “Reflecting in silence and being still, going within, has saved me – to find that place of stillness and calm when everything is going wild around me.”

The evening not only introduced the practice of meditation to many who were new to it but also reaffirmed the growing need for silence and introspection in today’s uncertain world. The series continues in other cities, spreading the message of peace, clarity, and spiritual connection.

Next stop: Harmony House Leicester tomorrow Friday 6th June at 7pm.
