Sister Jaymini and a group of sisters and brothers from London and Leicester Brahma Kumaris were invited by Baroness Verma to the House of Lords in July to celebrate Raksha Bandhan, otherwise known as ‘Rakhi’. Some 160 senior members of the UK Armed Forces and the UK Parliament, including Baroness Goldie, The Earl of Minto and Bob Blackman MP took part. All present had rakhis (red threads symbolising protection) tied on them and received a small sweet and a positive affirmation card. Sister Jaymini is seen here tying Rakhi on Major General Jon Swift.
