Creating a World of Peace

The Magic of Meditation with Sister Jayanti at Global Co-operation House, London – 8 June 2025

Sister Jayanti led another powerful evening of insight, inspiration and experience on The Magic of Meditation at Global Co-operation House, with a packed auditorium of nearly 500 people and another 260+ joining online.

It began with a short video showcasing the work of the Brahma Kumaris in the UK, introducing meditation not as a remote or difficult practice, but as something natural, accessible and transformative. As MC Minal Patel said in his introduction, “Meditation is one of humankind’s most powerful tools.

Sister Jayanti guided the audience through a deep exploration of the self, – the inner being, the soul – and the Divine. She emphasised the power of meditation in navigating the inner and outer worlds, saying:
Each one of us can contribute through our own transformation to creating a world of peace. The values we seek—love, peace, kindness—aren’t found in institutions. They are within us, in the soul. Meditation reconnects us with those core values.

Sister Jayanti emphasised the subtle yet transformative nature of Raja Yoga meditation. She encouraged attendees to visualise the self not as the physical body, but as a being of light—a soul residing in the forehead—and to re-establish a connection with the Source.

A guided meditation offered during the programme brought the audience into a profound reflective state:
I go deep within myself, and I watch my thoughts. I select one thought—the thought of peace. I hold this thought and begin to feel it. It feels natural, and I realise peace is not out there—it is within. I am a being of peace.

This inner journey, according to Sister Jayanti, has ripple effects far beyond the individual:
Our thoughts make a difference—not just to how we feel but to the world around us. A thought of peace is a beautiful contribution to creating a better world.

The evening also included a Q&A session, where participants explored topics such as forgiveness, relationships, and time management. Sister Jayanti offered practical spiritual tools, such as hourly one-minute reflections, and morning meditation to “set the compass right” for the day. She reminded the audience:
If I refuse to spend time with myself, I’ll never know myself. But when I begin to rediscover the inner treasures, I become self-sufficient, fulfilled and capable of loving others without conditions.

The programme concluded with a powerful collective meditation sending vibrations of peace, love and healing to the world—a moment of quiet magic that united everyone present in hope and purpose.

In an age of global uncertainty, the message from The Magic of Meditation was clear: change begins within, and the light of even one soul can illuminate the path to a better world.

After the event, one young man shared what he was taking away from the evening: “The message? It’s really important: be kind to yourself. And once you’re kind to yourself, you’ll be kind to everyone else.

A young woman was touched by the vibration and the atmosphere: “I’ve heard Sister Jayanti speak before and there is a beautiful energy that she carries in the way that she speaks. There’s a lot of wisdom to the things that she has to share. I really enjoy the sense of community that I feel as well, when I come to Global Co-operation House, knowing that I get to be around people who are also on the spiritual journey like myself.

And another commented: “One of the things that really affected me today was when she was talking about seeing people from here (pointing to the forehead) and seeing the light in everyone. Sometimes we are striving to do that, and it’s very difficult. Someone saying that, reminding you, gives you fresh strength and hope that you’ll be able to do that for yourself.
