In this session, Baz from Leicester will share how acceptance and detachment have enabled him to find peace and happiness in the dynamic between a busy work-life and caring for loved ones whilst being kind to himself. 

My Profile: - Baz Kanabar
Profession: - Work for the Leicester City Council and also work on various projects in
the Social Care Sector. My Current role is I am the Data Protection and Cyber
Security consultant working with the care sector owners and managers to be Cyber
Complaint in the Care Homes and Domiciliary Companies. I also delivery confidence
building and ESOL courses for the Carers working in the Care Companies. I have
worked in communities for the past 25 years and have vast experience in community
engagements in the many projects I have been involved with.
I also look after my mother as her carer as she has been diagnosed with Dementia.
I have been practicing Spirituality for a long time and for the past Six years working
with the Janki Foundation and Brahma Kumaris.
I am a family man and have two teenage boys who are 16 and 18. I used to be a
carer for my dad who sadly passes away two years ago with Vascular Dementia. I
am now looking after my mother whose recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. I
have been practicing mindfulness for the past several years and recently been
involved with the Brahma Kumaris projects with the Janki Foundation. My spiritual
journey over the years has been very interesting with roller coaster situations and
challenging but helping me to understand of who I am and what my purpose of life is.
It has brought tranquility, stability and helped me to work from inside out and not outside in…
